By Train

Lancaster Train station is a 5 minute walk from the Tara Centre. We are on a mainline route between London and Edinburgh.

By car 

You can approach Lancaster at J33 (south) or J34 (north) on the M6. We are approximately 56 miles north of Manchester and Liverpool (around 1 hour and 20 minutes away), approximately 160 miles south of Glasgow (around 3 hours away). 

Parking

There is short stay parking on Castle Hill along the Castle for up to 2 hours maximum. Free parking here after 6pm and on Sundays.

During the day and on Saturdays there is longer stay parking on Dallas Road which is 5 minutes walk from the Centre.

Access information

The Tara Centre is in a building named The Storey which is a corner plot and has 3 doors –  a front door on Meeting House Lane, a side door on Castle Hill and a back door on Castle Park. Our entrance is at the back of the building on Castle Park. Entrance on Castle Park is along a steep but steady incline from Meeting House Lane and there are some cobble stones just outside our door. You can park on Castle Hill with a blue badge for up to 3 hours or unlimited after 6pm and on Sundays. If you use an electric scooter, there is plenty of space to park your scooter in our foyer or you can bring it inside the Centre if you need to. Visitors using manual wheelchairs do access the Centre but please be aware there is a steep incline from Meeting House Lane.  

On Mondays-Saturdays there is lift access from the front entrance on Meeting House Lane and side entrance on Castle Hill (where you can park with a blue badge). We would arrange to meet you by the lift. Unfortunately we do not have access to the lift on Sundays.

There are accessible toilets throughout the building available at all times.
