ABOUT JANETTE: Janette is a trained teacher and has over 10 years of experience of teaching relaxation and mindfulness within a huge range of settings. She ran a social enterprise dedicated to helping people living with chronic health conditions and is currently commissioned by Bay Medical Group to run Self-Care workshops in Morecambe. Janette brings her expertise in self-management and mindful practice together with her skills in teaching to create a safe, warm and welcoming environment for self-development.
WHAT TO EXPECT: The class is held in a peaceful space dedicated to meditation and promoting compassion, located in the beautiful surroundings of Lancaster Castle. You will be in a small group with a friendly teacher who will greet you and help put you at ease. There is no pressure to talk or share any information about yourself. You can choose to lie down during the session so you can fully relax, or you can stay seated if it suits you better. Mats, pillows and blankets are provided but feel free to bring your own for extra comfort.
LOCATION: The Tara Centre is in The Storey and our entrance is at the back of the building on Castle Park, directly opposite the Castle entrance. You will see a big red heart in the window. That’s us. Please just knock on the window.
ACCESSIBILITY: There is a slight incline coming up to the back door, with a few cobblestones. The centre itself is wheelchair accessible and there are accessible toilets on the same floor.
