Lancaster – FREE Beginners Meditation
STARTING 14 NOVEMBER 2019
A free guided meditation for absolute beginners every Thursday 1-2pm at Lancaster Library.
WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CLASS?: This is a meditation class where you are asked to lie down on a mat, close your eyes if you prefer, and enjoy following a guided meditation that will help you relax. Some people relax so much they fall asleep! People who attend report their pain has reduced, they feel happier, their anxiety levels have reduced, and they feel more like themselves. Come and try it for yourself.
COST: Free for anyone struggling with their physical or mental health, on little or no income, needing a safe space, living with anxiety or depression, struggling with substance misuse or just needing some connection.
VENUE: The Sanctuary Room, Lancaster Library, Market Square (the Sanctuary is upstairs but there is a lift for those that need it).
Jitei is an experienced teacher who creates a safe space for every one who attends the class. He has been practicing meditation for 36 years and has been a teacher of Mindfulness Meditation, Metta Meditation, Somatic Meditation and Shikan-taza Meditation for over 20 years.
He is a co-founder of the Tara Centre.
* These sessions are offered with support from the Tara Centre and Tamasin Lamb challenge through Sport Initiative.
